Financial Controller – Manufacturing Operations (Mexico)

About the role

The company, a well‑established U.S. manufacturer, is expanding its operations in Mexico and needs a Financial Controller to lead accounting and finance activities on the plant floor. This senior position works closely with plant leadership and U.S. corporate finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and drive operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Support all accounting and financial processes for the Mexico operation.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close cycles.
• Prepare financial statements, analysis, and management reporting packages.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, overhead and overall operational performance.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning.
• Monitor financial and operational KPIs and recommend profitability improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and statutory reporting.
• Support audit activities and collaborate with U.S. corporate finance on strategic initiatives.
• Serve as the primary SAP finance resource, driving process improvements and data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• CPA, CMA or equivalent certification is a plus.
