Financial Controller – Mexico Operations

About the role

The Controller will lead and oversee the financial control, accounting, treasury, tax compliance, customs, and internal audit functions for the Mexican operation. Reporting to the SVP of Finance and Accounting, the role ensures accurate financial information under Mexican NIF, IFRS, and alignment with the North American corporate headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with NIF and IFRS, ensuring timeliness and compliance.
• Coordinate the monthly accounting close process and report key results (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) using systems such as Perfect Fit and Odoo.
• Supervise intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and daily cash‑flow management.
• Manage banking relationships, credit covenant compliance, and liquidity projections.
• Ensure correct calculation and filing of federal and local taxes, including ISR, IVA, IEPS, payroll taxes, and related informational returns.
• Oversee customs compliance for garment imports, including tariff classification and duty payments.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF), IFRS, and US GAAP.
• Experience acting as the primary financial liaison with parent company, shareholders, tax authorities and regulators.
• Proven ability to manage intercompany processes, banking relationships and tax compliance in Mexico.
• Familiarity with customs regulations for the textile and apparel sector.
