Financial Plant Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Financial Plant Controller to lead finance operations at our manufacturing site. Reporting to the North America Regional Controller, you will partner with operations, supply chain and plant leadership to drive financial performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual plant financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze cost drivers, cost conversion variances and operating margins to provide actionable insights.
• Oversee period‑end close activities and ensure timely completion.
• Manage inventory valuation, cycle counts and physical inventory processes, addressing risks such as slow‑moving or obsolete stock.
• Supervise the Customs team for US and Mexico operations, ensuring compliance.
• Lead plant budgeting, forecasting and long‑range financial planning, developing models for capital investment decisions.
• Track and communicate key performance indicators, financial trends and performance against targets.
• Lead capital expenditure and cost‑reduction projects and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.
• Build, coach and develop a finance team, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
• Design and monitor internal controls, coordinate with auditors and ensure regulatory and tax compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in accounting or financial leadership.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to influence plant leadership.

Required skills

• Standard cost accounting expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with major ERP systems (JDE, SAP, Oracle or equivalent).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Inventory control and valuation knowledge.
