Formal Verification Engineer - RISC-V Cores

About the role

AheadComputing is looking for a Formal Verification Engineer in Guadalajara, Mexico. The role uses advanced formal verification techniques to ensure the correctness and performance of high-end RISC-V cores, working closely with architects and RTL engineers to build verification solutions that shape CPU design and optimize the verification process.

Key responsibilities

• Perform formal verification of architecture and microarchitecture for high-performance RISC-V cores
• Collaborate with architects and RTL design engineers to identify, specify and verify components suitable for formal analysis
• Use formal tools to ensure the correctness of arithmetic, logical and data transfer operations
• Develop formal abstract models to verify system-level properties such as deadlock freedom and non-starvation
• Create verification flows combining formal techniques with simulation-based methods for bug detection
• Build reusable and scalable proof techniques

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Hands-on experience with data path and control path formal techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to troubleshoot complex CPU design issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organization and self-motivation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse design teams

Required skills

• Familiarity with model checking tools for formal verification
• Familiarity with UVM or similar verification frameworks
• Strong understanding of microarchitectural concepts and CPU pipeline verification
• Experience creating reusable test environments and verification infrastructure
