Fraud Specialist

About the role

Alboalbo is a fast‑growing fintech that provides financial products to individuals and SMBs. As a Fraud Specialist you will act as the strategic engine behind the company’s fraud defense, combining deep investigative research with technical implementation to protect the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct forensic and exploratory analysis on complex, unstructured fraud incidents that fall outside automated AI coverage.
• Analyze large historical datasets in BigQuery to discover, validate, and propose new predictive variables for ML models and rule engines.
• Lead high‑priority research projects on the strategic roadmap, including mapping AML networks and distinguishing credit default from fraud.
• Design and prototype statistical models and analytical scripts (e.g., graph‑based money‑laundering detection) for validation before production deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience turning unstructured data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with Data Scientists, ML Engineers and operational teams.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL query writing, especially in Google BigQuery.
• Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling and data prototyping.
• Experience with graph analysis and feature engineering for fraud detection.
