Full-Time Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our same‑day surgery center, providing pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia care (PACU) on a full‑time basis. The RN will ensure safe, high‑quality nursing care from admission through discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering nursing care to patients undergoing same‑day surgery.
• Assume total responsibility for patient care according to physician orders and center policies.
• Monitor and control the use and charging of supplies.
• Assess, develop, and implement comprehensive nursing care plans for post‑operative patients.
• Record and report symptoms, reactions, and changes in patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring proper documentation.
• Discharge patients following facility policies and provide pain and nausea management.
• Maintain patient privacy, provide psychological support, and coordinate with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Perform routine charging of medications and supplies, and verify charge sheets.
• Respond independently to emergency situations and make rapid, sound decisions.
• Assist in orienting new employees and act as a resource for departmental policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is a plus.
• Ability to assess pain and nausea, and to administer medication safely.
• Commitment to continuing education and meeting CEU requirements.
