Hardware Engineer – Aftermarket Electronics

About the role
The Aftermarket Electronics Engineer will support Bosch’s electronic products throughout their post‑launch lifecycle, ensuring reliability, serviceability and continuous improvement. You will work with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot field issues, redesign hardware and manage component obsolescence.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze customer, service and business requirements and translate them into electronic design proposals.
- Design, modify and maintain electronic circuits and schematics using industry‑standard CAD tools.
- Support product sustainment activities, including component obsolescence management, redesigns and cost optimisation.
- Bring up and validate prototype hardware, proof‑of‑concept designs and engineering mock‑ups.
- Investigate field failures, perform root‑cause analysis and define corrective actions.
- Develop and execute validation and verification test plans, documenting results.
- Perform electrical characterisation, debugging and troubleshooting with laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, Quality and Service teams to implement robust solutions.
- Support PCB design reviews, layout optimisation and manufacturing readiness.
- Ensure compliance with EMC, EMI, ESD, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, test reports and engineering change records.
- Participate in product lifecycle management from design modifications through production implementation.

Required skills
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
- Experience with electronic circuit simulation and validation tools.
- Harness and cable‑assembly design expertise.
- Knowledge of component selection, qualification processes and obsolescence management.
- Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with engineering change management and product lifecycle management systems.
- Understanding of EMC, EMI, ESD and safety regulatory requirements.
