Hotel Industry Accountant

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month‑end close for its portfolio of hospitality clients. You will work in a fast‑paced, multi‑client environment, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks, prepare journal entries, and support month‑end close to meet client deadlines.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity by cleaning up and resolving reconciling items.
• Master specialized hospitality platforms, ERP tools, and reporting structures for independent execution.
• Follow standardized processes to deliver consistent, accurate, and responsive client service.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience in hospitality, property management, or outsourced accounting is highly preferred.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and the month‑end close cycle.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and able to work independently while communicating clearly with teams and clients.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue cycles.
• Experience with hospitality systems such as Opera and POS platforms.
• Ability to quickly learn Ottimate, Acumatica, and ProfitSword.
