Import & Export Analyst – Customs Compliance

About the role

The Import & Export Analyst will join Volex’s Tijuana site to manage the flow of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring full compliance with Mexican customs regulations and international trade agreements. The role supports the plant’s expansion into automotive harnesses and connectors, providing critical logistics and customs expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise import and export operations for raw materials, machinery and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with Customs law, IMMEX decree, foreign trade rules, USMCA/T‑MEC and relevant international treaties.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in Annex 24 and Annex 30 inventory control systems.
• Review tariff classifications, permits, certificates and import timelines.
• Manage returns, disposition of expired merchandise and coordinate international logistics.
• Oversee relationships with Mexican and foreign customs brokers and support OEA and C‑TPAT certifications.
• Develop and monitor logistics KPIs to improve process efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in International Trade or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in customs compliance or foreign trade.
• Professional level English proficiency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS‑Office.
• Experience using BPCS, VUCEM and ERP systems.
