Installation Specialist

About the role

Installation Specialists ensure restaurant sites are fully prepared for successful POS installations through virtual assessments, on‑site readiness checks, and hardware deployment. They conduct site surveys, install POS equipment, and train staff, acting as a technical escalation point to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive virtual site surveys, validate wiring, networking, and internet performance, and document infrastructure gaps.
• Install and configure POS hardware—including workstations, printers, pin pads, cash drawers, switches, routers, and firewalls—and perform cabling and connectivity setup.
• Deliver onsite training and live support for restaurant staff, follow up to ensure smooth transitions, and mentor junior specialists.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in customer success, technical implementation, or IT support within restaurant or multi‑location environments.
• High school diploma required; associate degree in IT, networking, or related field preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).

Required skills

• Networking infrastructure knowledge (low‑voltage cabling, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi optimization).
• Advanced network testing (speed, latency, DNS, traceroutes, port checks).
• Hands‑on experience with restaurant POS systems and multi‑terminal deployments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, and ticketing systems.
• Ability to produce detailed documentation, photos, and diagrams of site surveys.
