Interiors Design & Release Engineer - Seats Components

About the role

ALTEN Mexico, an engineering company working with industries such as automotive, energy, aeronautics, banking, telecom and rail, is looking for an Interiors Design & Release Engineer. The engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, timing and production release of interior components and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the design and release processes. The current scope is seats components.

Key responsibilities

• Handle component and system-level design, development, validation, timing and production release of seats components.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of interior systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience reviewing, validating and releasing designs for automotive seats components.
• Experience with complete seats, trim covers, foams, headrests and armrests.
• Experience with materials such as foam, cloth, leather, vinyl, PP, ABS, metallic structures or electronic components.
• Intermediate-advanced English (B2-C1) for technical comprehension and international team communication.
• Valid visa is optional.

Required skills

• CATIA V5/3DX or NX for 3D/2D model review.
• PLM (Teamcenter) for documentation and release management.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermoforming and plastic welding.
• PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R and technical sheet management.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
• Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation.
• In-plant experience (tool tryouts, assembly, program launch).
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.
