IT Technician – Support & Maintenance

About the role

Harting is looking for an IT Technician to keep its global IT infrastructure running smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining hardware, supporting users, and ensuring the reliability of our internal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and improve all installed hardware and peripherals.
• Support and train end‑users on equipment and software.
• Maintain workstations, system backups, utilities and resolve system issues.
• Update, monitor and adjust software according to instructions.
• Operate the intranet help‑desk, respond to logged tickets within one hour and analyse recurring problems.
• Prepare charts and reports on typical error situations.
• Assist in evaluating new software and updating existing applications and hardware.
• Follow the documented quality system and propose process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or engineering qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Strong customer orientation, communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Advanced English proficiency and a sense of urgency to achieve results.
• Understanding of quality policies, ethics and corporate social responsibility.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Windows operating system.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience configuring and maintaining PCs.
• Ability to perform system backups and restore procedures.
• Familiarity with intranet help‑desk tools.
• Basic knowledge of SAP usage (advantage).
