Junior Cyber Defense Engineer – Mexico

About the role

Randstad is looking for a Junior Cyber Defense Engineer to join its Nearshore Center in Mexico. You will lead the investigation of complex cybersecurity alerts, work with advanced security tools, and collaborate closely with both internal and outsourced teams to protect the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of high‑complexity cybersecurity alerts and drive investigations to closure.
• Utilize cutting‑edge technologies such as EDR, SIEM, SOAR, and other advanced tools for security investigations.
• Maintain continuous communication with outsourced frontline staff and external cyber‑defense segments to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
• Support local IT and ISOs by translating security issues into actionable tasks and providing guidance.
• After each investigation, perform additional analysis, suggest new playbooks, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Assist vulnerability‑management and threat‑intelligence leads as needed, based on skills and interests.
• Collaborate with the continuous‑improvement lead to design and enhance threat‑detection capabilities and contribute to threat‑modeling programs.
• Participate in critical incident response alongside the CSIRT to restore a secure environment.

Required profile

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and common attack vectors.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for assessing security events and making informed decisions.
• Experience with industry‑leading SIEM and EDR tools.
• Basic knowledge of network protocols and traffic analysis to identify suspicious activity.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP are a plus.
