Lead Android Software Engineer

About the role

EPAM is looking for a Lead Android Software Engineer to drive the delivery, quality, and performance of modern Kotlin‑first native Android applications. You will collaborate with product, UX/UI, and backend teams to ship scalable features and maintain a smooth release pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high‑performance native Android apps using Kotlin.
• Partner with UI/UX designers to create responsive, Material‑Design‑compliant screens.
• Integrate apps with backend microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; conduct code reviews.
• Develop unit and UI tests to ensure stability.
• Evaluate and improve app performance, battery usage, and memory consumption.
• Coordinate app updates and releases on Google Play Store.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience building native Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDKs.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira and Confluence.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
