Legal Counsel – LATAM Region

About the role

The Legal Counsel will provide legal, compliance and investigations support across the LATAM region (Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil). The role ensures that business activities align with applicable regulations and Bureau Veritas policies, helping to mitigate risk and enable responsible growth.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate contracts, support corporate governance and manage claims and disputes.
• Handle labor and employment matters, insurance-related issues, and policy implementation.
• Lead compliance initiatives and provide training to internal teams.
• Supervise a dedicated lawyer for the ANCE business.
• Conduct ethics and integrity investigations, responding to regional market shifts.

Required profile

• Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) with an active professional license.
• 8‑10 years of experience in corporate legal, compliance and investigations.
• Strong ability to manage complexity across multiple jurisdictions.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English; intermediate Portuguese is a plus.
