Literature Teacher – Middle School

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Literature Teacher to join our middle‑school team. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore poetry, drama, prose and novels while developing critical reading and writing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic literature lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach a range of literary genres, highlighting historical and cultural contexts.
• Develop students’ analytical abilities through essays, discussions, and projects.
• Assess, record, and report student progress, providing constructive feedback and academic support.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance engagement.
• Prepare students for internal assessments, standardized exams and academic competitions.
• Foster respectful, inclusive classroom discussions that value multiple viewpoints.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design and interdisciplinary projects.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student achievement.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings and school events.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and professional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Literature, English, Humanities or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching certification or equivalent professional qualification.
• Previous teaching experience in literature or English at the high‑school level.
• Experience developing lesson plans, evaluating student writing and supporting diverse learners.
• Ability to collaborate on curriculum design and interdisciplinary projects.
