Local Partnership Development Specialist – Tourism Network

About the role

The Local Partnership Development Specialist will support the expansion of a fast‑growing travel and tourism company by identifying, evaluating, and onboarding qualified local tour guides across multiple Mexican destinations. Working closely with management, the specialist will build sustainable pipelines of guide partners and strengthen relationships with tourism communities, guide associations, universities, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Source qualified tour guides through directories, social media, tourism communities, referrals, guide marketplaces, and academic institutions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with tourism departments, faculty, student groups, guide associations, and local tourism offices.
• Research prospective partners, verify backgrounds, certifications, language skills, customer reviews, and professional reputation.
• Conduct structured screening interviews to assess destination knowledge, storytelling ability, customer service skills, and operational readiness.
• Rank and rank candidates using defined evaluation criteria, maintaining an organized pipeline of qualified guides.
• Prepare candidate profiles, recommendations, and shortlists for management review, highlighting strengths, development areas, and market suitability.
• Support partnership negotiations and onboarding activities to integrate new guides into the company’s network.

Required profile

• Experience in business development, recruitment, partnership management, or tourism operations.
• Strong communication, interviewing, and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Ability to conduct detailed research and maintain accurate candidate pipelines.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred for local market engagement.
• Willingness to work onsite in Mexico and travel within the region as needed.
