Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead continuous‑improvement initiatives on the shop floor, driving safety, quality, productivity and efficiency. This hands‑on position requires a self‑starter who spends the majority of time directly interacting with equipment, processes and personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Identify operational issues and lead improvement projects independently.
• Work on the manufacturing floor daily, engaging with processes, equipment and staff.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Quality to develop and execute improvement strategies.
• Manage projects targeting material savings, VA/VE, and other OpEx opportunities.
• Lead cost‑reduction, quality‑enhancement and efficiency initiatives.
• Facilitate change across the plant, securing stakeholder buy‑in and delivering results.
• Mentor project teams on Lean tools and conduct Kaizen events.
• Establish new work standards using Lean principles to boost productivity, quality and on‑time delivery.
• Improve equipment reliability, focusing on critical or bottleneck machines.
• Prepare KPI reports and communicate progress in both English and Spanish.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize problems and implement solutions.
• Background in process engineering within sectors such as medical, electronics, automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, metals or machinery.
