Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop header steel support solutions that integrate automation systems with building structures. You will translate project requirements into detailed CAD models, calculate point loads, generate BOMs, and produce installation drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Design and detail header steel structures, composites, safety guards, pneumatic components, and netting using Dematic’s CAD tools.
• Perform load calculations, create and verify bills of materials, and produce installation drawings.
• Conduct quality audits, support cross‑audits, and revise deliverables as needed.
• Coordinate with project leads, manage small engineering teams, and track progress to remove roadblocks.
• Assist with budget management and occasional on‑site travel to customer locations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design and structural engineering for industrial applications.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions effectively.
• Experience guiding less‑experienced engineers and creating technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
