Mechanical Drafting Engineer – Querétaro, Mexico

About the role

Belcan is seeking a Mechanical Drafting Engineer to join its manufacturing team in Querétaro, Mexico. You will create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models that support project activities and translate engineering concepts into detailed manufacturing documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Create precise CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and photographs.
• Clarify design intent with engineers and project managers when needed.
• Develop and maintain engineering and operations documentation, including updates to codes and standards.
• Produce full assembly details and manufacturing instructions down to component level.
• Design CAD templates and macros to improve drafting efficiency.

Required profile

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work fully onsite at the Querétaro office.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (solid modeling required).
• Experience with other 2D/3D CAD tools such as NX, Creo Parametric, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical fits.
• Ability to create CAD templates and macros.
