Mechanical Engineer – Sustaining Engineer (Switchgear)

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to serve as a Sustaining Engineer for its Switchgear product line. This role blends product design with manufacturing support in a fast‑paced, engineered‑to‑order environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Switchgear design data within Oracle Product Lifecycle Management.
• Improve design for manufacturability, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Provide design support for production‑related issues.
• Assist supply‑chain teams with design‑related challenges.
• Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) activities.
• Validate ETO design quality before release to production.

Required profile

• 1‑3+ years of experience in product design.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• 1‑3+ years of experience with 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
