Mechanical Product Design Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, calculating and reviewing technical information for the manufacture of electrical transformers. You will ensure compliance with international standards, internal quality policies and customer specifications while supporting a safe and environmentally‑responsible work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design, calculation and technical review of transformer components in accordance with ANSI, ASME, IEC, DIN, ISO, IEEE, CSA, ASTM standards.
• Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical drawings using CAD tools.
• Interpret fabrication drawings, machining instructions, welding specifications (AWS/ISO), surface finishes and corrosion protection systems.
• Collaborate with factory management, commercial, technical, sales and marketing teams to align product design with market needs.
• Ensure adherence to the Integrated Management System (EHS, Quality) and conduct root‑cause analysis of non‑conformities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Ability to work independently in remote or changing environments and to communicate technical information clearly.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a professional attitude toward clients.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software: CREO (preferred), AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor.
• Strong knowledge of technical drafting, orthographic projections, dimensioning and feature location.
• Understanding of strength of materials, deformation and mechanical concepts.
• Experience interpreting fabrication drawings, welding codes, surface finishes and corrosion protection.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) management and selection of commercial steel profiles for structural applications.
• Familiarity with Integrated Management System requirements (EHS, Quality) and root‑cause analysis.
