Mechanical Software Engineer II

About the role

Join Schneider Electric’s North America Power Systems Engineer‑To‑Order (ETO) team as a Mechanical Software Engineer II. You will design, develop, and maintain automation applications that streamline mechanical design processes within the SigMaxim SmartAssembly and PTC Creo environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance mechanical design automation tools that improve productivity and quality for Project Engineers.
• Create batch‑processing, data‑extraction, and information‑retrieval solutions that integrate with Creo 3D CAD.
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Design Methods and Tools leader to standardize automation across the MCAD landscape.
• Support and troubleshoot SmartAssembly applications, including bug resolution and user training.
• Produce monthly usage reports and dashboard updates for ongoing initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to ETO mechanical design processes.
• Strong understanding of low‑voltage or medium‑voltage electrical equipment.

Required skills

• PTC Creo and PDM proficiency.
• Experience with SigMaxim SmartAssembly.
• Database development and web development experience.
• Moderate programming skills and ability to write, test, and debug code.
