Medical Biller & Coder (Remote – Mexico)

About the role

This remote contractor position supports outpatient mental health centers by providing accurate medical billing and coding services. The role is based in Mexico and works on U.S. Eastern Time business hours, reporting to the Medical Billing & Coding Analyst Team Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to ensure all required elements are present before billing.
• Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes and enter charges into the EHR or billing system.
• Submit claims in a timely manner, verify patient and payer information, and resolve rejections or denials.
• Maintain audit‑ready billing records and support denial‑resolution activities.
• Assist with back‑log reduction, quality assurance reviews, and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience, preferably in outpatient mental health.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow defined workflows, and excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Professional coding certification such as CPC is preferred.
