Mexico Language Manager

About the role

Canva is looking for a Mexico Language Manager to lead Spanish (Mexico) localisation across its product and marketing content. This 12‑month full‑time role is based in Mexico City and works closely with the Country Localisation Lead to ensure a consistent, culturally resonant voice for Mexican users.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Country Localisation Lead to define and maintain Canva’s voice in Spanish (MX) across all product areas.
• Translate, review and quality‑check product and marketing content while managing localisation partners and vendors.
• Create and update style guides, glossaries and translation memories to guarantee consistency.
• Provide cultural insights and localisation recommendations that improve the user experience for Mexican audiences.
• Evaluate machine‑translation and AI‑generated outputs to uphold high‑quality local experiences.
• Collaborate with marketing, subscriptions, content and localisation teams to deliver cross‑functional initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to localisation workflows, tooling and quality processes at scale.

Required profile

• Exceptional writer and communicator in Spanish (Mexico) with deep understanding of tone, localisation and cultural nuance.
• Passionate about language, creativity and delivering natural, empowering user experiences.
• Thrives in fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environments and takes ownership of projects.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence in reviewing and improving translated content.
• Enjoys cross‑functional collaboration and building stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with computer‑assisted translation (CAT) tools.
• Familiarity with localisation platforms, preferably Smartling.
• Ability to assess machine‑translation and AI‑generated language outputs.
