About the role

XPeng is building a local tax function in Mexico to support its importer‑of‑record activities and dealer‑network rollout. As the sole Tax Manager on the ground, you will own all direct and indirect tax compliance, e‑invoicing (CFDI) operations, cross‑border advisory and Permanent Establishment risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and timely filing of corporate income tax (ISR), VAT (IVA) and withholding taxes, and manage tax provisions, deferred tax and effective tax rate analysis.
• Lead the maintenance and compliance of the CFDI 4.0 electronic invoicing platform, ensuring integration with China IT systems and alignment with SAT requirements.
• Act as primary liaison with SAT and external advisors, handling tax audits, inquiries, VAT refund processes and building robust documentation to support tax positions.
• Manage relationships with Big‑4 and local tax advisors, define work split between in‑house and external resources, and coordinate with HQ Global Tax on complex matters.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, IT, HR and business leaders to embed tax considerations into daily decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Law or related field; CPA (Mexico) or Master’s in Tax preferred.
• 6–8 years of tax experience in Mexico, ideally within a multinational manufacturing or automotive company.
• Experience working with Big‑4 or local advisory firms and comfort operating as a one‑person tax function.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage a virtual team of external advisors.
