Painting Engineer

About the role

The Painting Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of painting and surface‑preparation processes on the shop floor. You will work closely with engineering, production, and external suppliers to ensure high‑quality coating applications while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and specify purchases required to meet technical specifications.
• Collect, distribute, and analyze information to improve product quality.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and quality‑control requirements.
• Ensure safe work practices in compliance with governmental regulations.
• Drive lean efforts and support engineering projects.
• Create engineering reports based on drawings and test results.
• Perform machine setups and trials for development projects.
• Identify improvement opportunities on the production line.
• Collaborate with external service providers to meet business‑unit needs.
• Prepare ROI and CAPEX analyses for capital equipment purchases and manage the supplier cycle from quotation to installation.
• Develop presentations and documentation for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Shop‑floor experience with painting and surface preparation of metal and composite materials.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to conduct root‑cause corrective actions.
• Ability to meet customer and quality‑system requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and ability to design robust processes.
• Experience with other special processes is a plus.
