Payroll Operations Manager

About the role

Spencer Thomas Group is seeking a Payroll Operations Manager to temporarily backfill a critical position for a client in Mexico City. This 12‑month consulting assignment will focus on overseeing payroll vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with Mexican payroll regulations while the incumbent works on an internal transformation project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage current payroll vendors and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Provide oversight, escalation handling, and sign‑off for payroll‑related activities.
• Ensure adherence to Mexican payroll governance, laws, and regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align payroll processes with broader HR initiatives.

Required profile

• Specialist in Mexico payroll with deep knowledge of local payroll legislation.
• Proven experience managing outsourced payroll providers.
• Ability to work independently without direct reports.
