Principal Engineer I – Process Engineering

About the role

The Principal Engineer I – Process Engineering leads the optimisation, control and validation of bonding processes (OCA and LOCA) for display and tactile modules within an ISO 7 clean‑room environment. The role ensures zero‑defect delivery, warranty compliance and strict contamination control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead optimisation, control and validation of OCA and LOCA bonding processes.
• Maintain product documentation (PFMEA, control plans, core tools) and define BOM structures.
• Conduct 8‑D analyses, multidisciplinary team collaborations and customer failure investigations.
• Interpret engineering specifications, electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Develop and execute improvement plans for key operational metrics (BTS, scrap, quality, cycle time, first‑time‑through, delivery cost).
• Participate in Kaizen activities and drive Six‑Sigma projects.
• Perform process engineering studies such as Gage R&R, CPK, dimensional and strength gauge analyses.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14644 clean‑room standards and ESD requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in process engineering for display or tactile module manufacturing.
• Hands‑on expertise with OCA and LOCA bonding processes in ISO 7 clean rooms.
• Strong background in product documentation (PFMEA, control plans, core tools) and BOM definition.
• Experience with 8‑D problem‑solving, multidisciplinary collaboration and customer failure analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Track record of improving operational metrics and leading Kaizen/Six‑Sigma initiatives.
