Product Engineer – New Product Development

About the role

We are looking for a Product Engineer to lead the development of new furniture products from concept through mass production. The role works closely with engineering, design, tooling and cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality prototypes and final products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute prototype builds on schedule.
• Develop and manage product designs, specifications, drawings, BOMs and tooling requirements.
• Create accurate engineering drawings and modify existing CAD models to support manufacturing and purchasing.
• Coordinate CAD activities throughout the project lifecycle and maintain design documentation.
• Support day‑to‑day production, quality assurance and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Participate in cross‑functional product development teams and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in product development, preferably in furniture or upholstered seating.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency – CREO (preferred).
• CNC wood programming experience.
• Experience with textile CNC cutters – Gerber (preferred).
• Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and temporary deviation management.
• Reverse engineering and redesign of upholstered furniture components.
• Creation of detailed BOMs and product specifications.
