Project Buyer – Automotive Supply Chain

About the role

The Project Buyer will support Commodity Buyers in managing supplier panels, handling supplier changes and launching new products for Hutchinson’s automotive, aviation, defence and industrial customers. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure cost‑effective sourcing and smooth product life‑cycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Support the RFQ process and maintain supplier commodity panels.
• Analyse sourcing data, prepare recommendations and present them to stakeholders.
• Develop and sustain key supplier relationships, enforcing group and local conditions.
• Research and propose cost‑optimization actions, tracking savings and VA/VE initiatives.
• Record and report purchasing data in the Ivalua system and ensure ERP data validity.
• Coordinate with accounting on price gaps, adjustments and invoice issues.
• Manage end‑of‑life activities for components and collaborate with North‑America corporate purchasing.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Supply Chain Management.
• At least 2 years experience as a Project Buyer.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the automotive market.
• Demonstrated stability with previous employers (average ≥3 years).
• Strong negotiation abilities and advanced English proficiency.
