Project Lead – Mexico

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Lead to oversee all Mexico‑based activities for the WIFA Long Term Water Augmentation Fund Program. The role will serve as the primary in‑country interface, ensuring that feasibility, design, permitting, commercial, reporting and construction tasks align with program objectives and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate WIFA‑related feasibility, permitting, technical studies and construction support in Mexico.
• Act as the main liaison between Mexico and U.S. teams, integrating cross‑border infrastructure execution.
• Manage relationships with Mexican and U.S. authorities, regulators, utilities, consultants and contractors.
• Oversee technical inputs, feasibility studies and design development to meet engineering and operational standards.
• Support construction planning, logistics, budgeting, execution strategies and contractor coordination for Mexico‑based scopes.
• Assist with cost estimating, scheduling, reporting and risk management for permitting, logistics, environmental and cross‑border challenges.
• Provide progress updates, risk assessments and governance reporting to project leadership.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects in Mexico.
• Background in water, desalination or cross‑border infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Mexican permitting and regulatory frameworks.
