Purchasing Analyst

About the role

Metso is looking for a Purchasing Analyst to join its Mexico team at the Irapuato rubber plant. You will be responsible for operational procurement of indirect materials, supporting production schedules and ensuring the plant runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement activities in line with production schedules to guarantee timely availability of indirect materials.
• Engage with suppliers on pricing, lead times, payment terms and expedite orders as needed.
• Monitor delivery schedules and production plans, identify risks and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Manage procurement documentation including purchase orders, quotations and price lists, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Track key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
• Prepare regular procurement reports and coordinate with the supply team.
• Support internal stakeholders by responding to requests and assisting management in achieving goals.

Required profile

• Solid experience in both business and technical procurement functions.
• Background in engineered projects or fabricated and machined products is highly desirable.
• Strategic thinker able to translate operational needs into supplier search and development.
• Ability to read technical drawings (preferred) and work with SAP systems.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• SAP (experience with SAP business systems).
