Purchasing Specialist

About the role

FLSmidth is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support the procurement of mining equipment and related services. The role involves managing purchase requisitions, vendor selection, and ensuring timely delivery while meeting cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Examine departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
• Plan and execute sales orders within budget and customer delivery dates.
• Issue inquiries, receive offers, and validate vendor proposals against customer requirements.
• Negotiate contracts, finalize orders, and optimize costs.
• Expedite order acknowledgements and monitor delivery schedules.
• Handle customer complaints post‑dispatch and installation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Logistics and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in domestic and global purchasing, preferably in mining equipment.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, dynamic, and determined attitude with good teamwork capabilities.

Required skills

• ERP systems – Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Microsoft Office suite.
