Safety Team Leader

About the role

The Safety Team Leader will head the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) function at our plant, ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting employees and surrounding communities. You will oversee the ISO 45001 system, lead training, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the plant follows the EHS regulatory schedule and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Provide safety and environmental training and technical advice.
• Direct and supervise plant commissions, brigades, and operational maintenance of the ISO 45001 system.
• Conduct on‑floor monitoring, weekly tours, audits, and investigations of accidents, incidents, first‑aid cases, environmental impacts and non‑conformities.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, legal standards and contractor/supplier protocols.
• Monitor transport booth controls and develop procedural documentation.

Required profile

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment.
• Education/training in HSE.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SST and PASST.
• Internal auditor of ISO 45001.
• Familiarity with industrial safety, risk prevention and in‑plant emergencies.
• Ergonomics risk‑analysis expertise.
• Proficiency in SAP.
