Seat Complete Engineer – Product Development

About the role

The Seat Complete Engineer in Product Development leads the integration of all seat system components, guiding the design from concept through industrialisation and vehicle integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, release and launch seat systems or components through GPDS (PRE‑PSC to J1).
• Manage QWCT (Quality, Weight, Cost, Timing) for assigned parts.
• Attend and lead program meetings such as To4, Seat Complete, EMMs, TDRMs, supplier and purchasing meetings.
• Develop and execute seat system/component level Design Verification Plans and support vehicle/system level DVP.
• Ensure compliance with System Design Specifications, Federal Regulations and export market requirements.
• Create and maintain a timing/Gantt chart (PDP) for assigned parts.
• Maintain a list of preventive actions, lessons learned and design rules, and cascade them to the core team.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional areas (Seat Structure, Studio, Safety, Craftsmanship, VO, PVT, Supplier, Tool shop, Purchasing, Finance, Program, etc.) to meet design intent.
• Lead integration of seating components into the complete seat system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in English (reading, listening, writing) and excellent Spanish communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Dearborn, supplier sites and Ford assembly plants.
• Experience in seat system or component design and manufacturing.
• Product development and parts verification/validation experience.
• Knowledge of FEDE, ADS, FSMS, GPDS, E2KS and WERS systems.
• FMEA knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of Teamcenter, Tc VisMockup and CATIA.
