Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join Maersk’s Global Service Center (GSC) Americas team. In this role you will support the finance function of our rapidly growing operations in Mexico, ensuring accurate month‑end and year‑end reporting, compliance and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end and year‑end financial reports.
• Perform balance‑sheet and profit & loss reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Record and validate tax entries.
• Manage the month‑end close process, including monthly accruals.
• Follow‑up on control activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of local and international financial regulations.
• Experience with financial analysis and audit processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including macros, pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
