Senior Capital Project Engineer – San Luis Potosi

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Capital Project Engineer to lead and execute medium‑to‑high complexity capital projects at its San Luis Potosi facility in Mexico. The role combines technical expertise in automation and control with financial stewardship to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional project teams from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and implement automated control systems, selecting hardware and software components.
• Negotiate project recommendations with internal and external partners and manage financial aspects, including cost estimating, AFE creation, purchasing, and cost tracking.
• Identify resources, set project priorities, and anticipate potential issues that could affect success.
• Collaborate with suppliers to analyze alternatives and guarantee equipment availability.
• Provide engineering support during planning and execution, including troubleshooting and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience as a project engineer or control‑automation engineer.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Experience in project management, industrial process automation, and team leadership.
• Background in manufacturing or metal‑working environments.
