Senior Commercial Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Commercial Legal Counsel provides in‑house legal support for Vertiv’s operations in Mexico and offers regional assistance for Colombia and Central America. Reporting to the LATAM Legal Director, the role works closely with business units to deliver practical, business‑oriented legal advice across corporate, commercial and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day legal advice to commercial, operations, HR, finance and procurement teams in Mexico, with regional support for Colombia and Central America.
• Advise on corporate and commercial law, real‑estate and leasing, employment and labor law (individual and collective), compliance, corporate governance, data privacy, data protection, intellectual property and risk management.
• Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide range of agreements, including sales and service contracts, procurement and supply agreements, non‑disclosure agreements, consulting and professional services agreements, and distribution, reseller and partner agreements.

Required profile

• Law degree with a valid license to practice law in Mexico.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a top‑tier law firm or corporate environment as a senior lawyer, and 5‑7 years total legal experience.
• Legal Business Partner mindset, hands‑on and collaborative approach, and ability to navigate a highly matrixed, fast‑paced organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 25 % nationally and internationally.
• U.S. work authorization; no sponsorship will be provided.
