Senior Controller (Finance & Project Control)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Controller to join our global finance team, supporting both development and operational phases of renewable‑energy projects. The role works closely with engineering, procurement, construction and asset‑management teams to ensure financial discipline, accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control CAPEX deployment during development and construction, tracking actual spend against approved budgets by WBS/cost element.
• Identify budget deviations, report them and propose corrective actions to project and finance leadership.
• Support financial closing for projects reaching Notice to Proceed (NTP) and Ready to Build (RTB) milestones.
• Coordinate with EPC teams to align payment milestones and S‑curve progress with financial data.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, funding requirement analyses and assist with drawdown requests and lender reporting.
• Lead financial controlling for assets in commercial operation, including monthly/quarterly P&L closing and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash position, CFADS/CAFD and distributions, ensuring compliance with debt covenants and shareholder agreements.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls across the project lifecycle and serve as primary contact for auditors.
• Mentor and supervise junior controlling/finance team members and collaborate with legal, tax, treasury and other corporate functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional certification preferred (e.g., CPA, CFA); MBA or postgraduate finance qualification is a plus.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in financial controlling, FP&A or project finance, ideally within renewable energy.
• Proven ability to work in a global, cross‑functional environment.
