Senior Cyber Security Architect/Engineer

About the role

The Senior Cyber Security Architect/Engineer leads the Security Operations function, driving advanced analytics, investigations, and tool engineering to mature the SOC. Reporting to the Cyber Security Director, this senior technical leader enhances detection capabilities, automation, and continuous improvement aligned with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Assess emerging threats and continuously improve SOC tools, architectures, and workflows.
• Develop and refine SLAs, KPIs, and operational reporting for security tooling.
• Lead identification, investigation, and remediation of advanced security incidents.
• Maintain SOC policies, documentation, and audit‑ready evidence handling.
• Mentor SOC engineers and analysts, fostering skill development.
• Design and implement SIEM, SOAR, and XDR solutions, including correlation rules and detection content.
• Drive automation and orchestration to boost SOC efficiency and reduce response times.
• Conduct deep‑dive threat hunting, hypothesis‑driven investigations, and adversary simulations.
• Guide cloud‑native security monitoring and detection engineering.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity or SOC experience.
• Strong documentation and communication abilities in English.
• Relevant certifications such as GSEC, Security+, CISSP (preferred or in progress).
• Ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• SIEM, SOAR, and XDR engineering.
• IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, and DLP technologies.
• Network protocols and log ingestion pipeline development.
• Cloud‑native security monitoring and detection.
• Threat hunting, incident response frameworks, and automation orchestration.
