Senior Data Engineer – Databricks (Mexico City)

About the role

Zurich Insurance is seeking a Senior Data Engineer specialized in Databricks to design and build scalable data solutions in Mexico City. You will work on ingesting, storing and processing large volumes of structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data, including real‑time streaming, within a cloud‑based Lakehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable pipelines to ingest, store and process massive data sets in the cloud.
• Build enterprise‑grade, reusable data assets for analytics consumption.
• Develop data architecture blueprints (conceptual, logical, physical) to create a single source of truth.
• Collaborate with analytics experts, data scientists and business analysts to enable self‑service data experiences.
• Own operationalization of Agentic AI and ML models, optimizing pipelines, deployment and monitoring.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in data engineering and cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to deliver enterprise‑grade Data & AI solutions.

Required skills

• Azure or AWS cloud services.
• Microsoft Azure Fabric, Databricks, Data Factory, Cosmos DB, Document Intelligence, Cognitive Services, AI Foundry, Power Platform, Co‑pilot Studio, Azure ML, Power Automate, Power BI.
• Vector stores such as Elastic, Pinecone, Mongo Atlas, Redis.
• Cloud data warehouses: Snowflake, Fabric, Redshift.
• ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn.
• LLM deployment experience, including unstructured data pipelines, vector store design, embeddings and prompt engineering.
