Senior Design Engineer – CAD & 3D Modeling

About the role

Flowserve is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to develop 3‑D models from hydraulic drawings and support internal teams such as customer service, sales, engineering, and manufacturing. The role focuses on creating accurate CAD models for casting parts, interpreting specifications, and ensuring product reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Generate 3‑D models of casting parts based on Flowserve hydraulic heritage drawings.
• Apply Flowserve engineering best practices and standards, identifying gaps in new standards.
• Support internal contacts (customer service, sales, engineering, manufacturing) with technical information.
• Modify existing product designs to meet customer needs and improve product life.
• Collaborate with other Design Engineers to investigate and resolve design issues promptly.
• Read and interpret machine drawings, Bills of Materials, and create parametric 3‑D CAD models and assembly drawings.
• Maintain and update the electronic document management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant CAD/Design experience.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to self‑manage priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with internal and external customers.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (parametric 3‑D modeling).
• Knowledge of ANSI and ISO drafting standards.
• Familiarity with AWS and ISO welding symbols.
• Experience with CFD and FEA pre‑process modeling.
• Understanding of casting process modeling for hydraulic parts.
• Knowledge of pump components and manufacturing processes.
• Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology.
