Senior Financial Controller – Management Control (Mexico)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Financial Controller / Management Control specialist based in Mexico. The role bridges our local operations and outsourced accounting agency with the Group’s Corporate Internal Audit team in Spain. You will implement proactive financial controls, reduce post‑closing errors, and collaborate with Business Managers to protect margins, avoid billing delays, and optimise accounts receivable.

Key responsibilities

• Financial control and project profitability: validate margins and contracts, enforce time‑tracking and billing to ensure 100% of operational hours are invoiced.
• Accounts receivable guard: monitor aging reports, coordinate collections with clients and Business Managers, and escalate overdue invoices to Group Internal Audit.
• Accounting oversight and closing liaison: manage intercompany invoices and provisions, review monthly trial balances, reconcile foreign‑currency bank accounts, verify vendor balances, allocate cost‑centers correctly, and audit fixed‑asset integration.
• Prepare the finance function for period‑end audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; MBA or Master’s in Financial Management/Controlling is a plus.
• 5–6 + years of experience in financial controlling, corporate audit, or senior finance management.
• Advanced management‑control and corporate‑finance expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Mexican accounting standards (NIF) and tax frameworks (SAT, CFDI validation).
• Proven ability to analyse project profitability, resource utilisation, and revenue recognition.
• Strong stakeholder management and the confidence to challenge commercial assumptions.
