Senior Mechanical Engineer – Continuous Improvement

About the role

Mainspring Energy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives on its mechanical design and quality control processes. You will work on‑site with a contract manufacturer to diagnose, redesign, and validate critical components of low‑emission power generation equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause analysis of mechanical failures using diagnostics, hands‑on testing, and analysis of bolted joints or material fatigue.
• Redesign or re‑engineer components, fasteners, and assemblies to eliminate failures, cut costs, and improve serviceability.
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, quality, NPI, and supply‑chain teams to test and validate changes with rapid feedback cycles.
• Predict and prevent failure modes by applying deep knowledge of mechanical system interactions, tolerance stack‑ups, and real‑world use conditions.
• Implement feedback loops from field issues into design standards and engineering processes.
• Create and manage internal improvement systems that embed learnings into manufacturing and field service.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, preferably in power generation or related heavy‑industry equipment.
• Hands‑on problem‑solver who has invented tools or changed processes to speed up installation or service.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate field data into design improvements.
• Senior‑level expertise with a track record of delivering durable, service‑friendly components.
