Senior Project Manager – Cross‑Functional Initiatives

About the role

Oportun is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives that drive strategic business outcomes. You will partner with Product, Delivery, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the company’s mission of providing affordable credit.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale projects from initiation through closure.
• Assist Directors of Operations, Product, and Engineering in defining project scope, design, and development.
• Establish project governance, timelines, milestones, and success metrics (KPIs/OKRs).
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Coordinate resources, manage priorities, and align multiple teams.
• Drive change‑management efforts to support adoption of new processes and tools.
• Monitor project performance, provide regular status reports, and recommend process improvements.
• Support the full lifecycle of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across Operations units.
• Execute and coordinate UAT test cases, document defects, track resolutions, and ensure deployment readiness.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing cross‑functional, enterprise‑level projects.
• Strong structured thinking and the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience coordinating UAT activities and ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
