Senior Retail Buyer – Apparel, Home & Accessories

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Retail Buyer to lead opportunistic purchasing for apparel, home goods, and accessories in our Mexico Buying Office. The role focuses on fast‑paced market hunting, negotiating brand‑name closeouts and surplus inventory, and delivering high‑value fashion to global consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Scout domestic and international markets to identify and execute opportunistic buys from top‑tier brands.
• Negotiate price, quality, fashion, and brand considerations to secure optimal deals.
• Manage Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) budgets and generate 20‑30 complex purchase orders per week.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing vendors, becoming their primary contact for surplus stock.
• Analyze product mixes, competitor pricing, and retail trends to develop weekly market strategies that maximize gross margin.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Merchandise Assistants to ensure accurate purchase order execution.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of buying experience in corporate retail (apparel, home goods, or accessories preferred).
• Proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced, off‑price environments.
• Strong analytical skills with experience managing OTB budgets and calculating margins.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent presentation abilities.
• High persistence, flexibility, trend awareness, and capacity to make rapid, high‑stakes decisions.
