Senior Social Advisor

About the role

Harbour Energy is seeking a Senior Social Advisor to lead social performance management for its Mexico assets. Reporting to the External and Social Affairs Management team, you will ensure regulatory compliance, manage social risks and opportunities, and support the company’s social licence to operate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the social management strategy in line with Harbour Energy’s overall relationship framework.
• Act as the primary liaison with Mexican social regulatory authorities (e.g., SENER) and keep senior management informed.
• Supervise and mentor the Junior Social Affairs Specialist in field operations, ensuring safe and compliant execution.
• Monitor and report on social performance indicators, identifying risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal HSES, Ethics, and Compliance teams to align activities with corporate policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in social affairs, stakeholder engagement, or community relations within the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Strong understanding of Mexican social regulatory requirements and licensing processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide junior staff.
• Commitment to health, safety, environment, and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of social performance management frameworks.
• Experience with stakeholder mapping and engagement plans.
• Familiarity with HSES procedures and compliance reporting.
