Senior Software Engineer (AI Native)

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in AI‑native development. You will work in a highly automated environment where AI assists the entire build‑test‑deploy pipeline, translating business requirements into precise specifications and ensuring the quality of AI‑generated code.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, identify data sources and define data schemas and contracts.
• Write clear Jira specifications to feed AI‑assisted code generation workflows.
• Review AI‑generated code with strong technical judgment, validating performance, optimization, edge cases and correctness.
• Design and implement data quality checks and deploy code through automated pipelines.
• Communicate requirements, technology choices and design decisions to stakeholders and team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of software or data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Scala, Java or Kotlin (Python alone is insufficient).
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude or Claude Code and building agentic workflows.
• Strong analytical ability to scope requirements, locate data sources and define data grain.
• Excellent communication skills in English (B2 level or higher) and comfort with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
