Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

The Senior Tax Analyst will support the company's direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities in Mexico. Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Payroll and external advisors, the analyst ensures timely filing of tax returns and minimizes tax risk while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, annual and ad‑hoc tax filings including VAT (IVA), Income Tax (ISR), withholding and local taxes.
• Support timely submission of returns and regulatory reports to the Mexican tax authority (SAT) and monitor tax calendars.
• Prepare tax provisions, reconciliations and supporting schedules for financial reporting, including deferred tax calculations.
• Assist with statutory and external tax audits, providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor changes in Mexican tax legislation, research issues and advise finance leadership.
• Support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany transaction reviews and tax planning initiatives.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities using automation, data analytics, ERP and AI‑enabled tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field; professional certification (CPA, Contador Público or Master’s in Taxation) is a plus.
• 4‑6 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting or tax consulting, preferably with multinational companies.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, SAT requirements and experience with VAT recovery and cross‑border transactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP tax accounting concepts.
• Experience using data‑analytics and AI‑enabled tools for tax reporting and compliance.
• In‑depth knowledge of Mexican tax laws and filing obligations.
